Our take on Just a Cleric
Its defining constraint is gear weight: the character’s total load determines fall damage, with each fall dealing damage equal to half that load. This makes equipment load part of movement and risk management.
What is Just a Cleric?
Play a cleric seeking revenge against a dragon after the deaths of his comrades.
The retro action RPG alternates between a hub or town, missions, rewards, gear upgrades, and purchases. Four standard stats can be increased according to the chosen build, and equipment can be upgraded to +4 before being blessed at a church in exchange for money. The cleric also has access to prayers such as Raise Dead.
New Game Plus opens a better loot pool and adds status ailments, altered enemy placements, tougher bosses, and additional boss abilities. Encumbrance affects fall damage: the damage equals half of the character’s total gear load. The game includes dialogue, music with guitars, bass, drums, and singing, plus humorous opening and ending scenes.
