Our take on Bone Appetit
Rather than treating food as a passive collectible, the game makes it a resource with two destinations: returning it to cultist masters or spending it in shops. That choice sits inside a conventional Metroidvania structure alongside weapons, power-ups, shields, and boss encounters.
What is Bone Appetit?
Bone Appetit is an old-school Metroidvania in which a skeleton servant steals food taken by an oppressive king.
Exploration and combat span two modes: Vanilla and Old School. The game includes 22 weapons with varied uses and powers, shields that deflect attacks such as arrows and snowballs, and power-ups including dash boosts, high-jump boots, helmets, necklaces, and magic rings. Players fight bats, soldiers, knights, fish, wizards, butterflies, and six bosses. Food can be returned to cultist masters or spent at shops. Up to five magical wands can also be found and used. The soundtrack uses guitars, bass, drums, and keyboards.
