We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…

- Fans of dwarven fantasy who want a structured 13-level campaign
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a purely peaceful builder may hit a wall when deeper excavation releases hostile creatures.
- Players who want a fixed, fully predictable map may dislike the changing layouts and conditions between levels.
- Players looking for a focused action game may find the digging, research and settlement administration slow the pace.
Our take on A Game of Dwarves
Players who want uninterrupted settlement construction may bounce off the point where underground excavation can release dangerous foes. The custom mode removes that pressure, but campaign progression still combines building and resource management with defensive play.
What is A Game of Dwarves?
Lead a Dwarven Prince through a 13-level story campaign to reclaim stolen land while managing a settlement.
Assign inhabitants to dig, construct buildings and research improvements, then use mined resources to expand the clan. Each new level generates a different world, requiring changes to settlement plans and defensive tactics. Exploration can reveal buried treasure, rare materials and dangers in deeper areas. Dwarves develop from weak beginners into skilled warriors or craftsmen as they gain levels and abilities. A custom mode allows settlement building without enemies or adds larger numbers of foes. The game combines resource management, settlement construction, exploration and combat against creatures released from underground.
