Our take on FOUNDRY
The store page emphasizes unlimited construction and industrial optimization, but the core loop begins with manual extraction and crafting before automation develops. Its scope is also centered on factory logistics, research, power management, and trade rather than combat or a conventional story campaign.
What is FOUNDRY?
FOUNDRY is a first-person factory-building game set on a procedurally generated, infinite voxel planet.
Players begin by mining resources and crafting items manually, then develop conveyor belts, pipes, elevators, transport networks, machines, and power systems to automate robot production. Research unlocks faster machinery, advanced generators, new technologies, decorative items, and color options. Factory layouts can extend underground, across the surface, and into the sky, while the terrain can be reshaped block by block. Interplanetary trade networks provide a route for selling manufactured products. The game supports solo play, online co-op, and LAN co-op, with an AI character named Carl directing the factory’s development.
How FOUNDRY plays
- 01Voxel factory construction
- Grid-based building allows machinery and production networks to span underground areas, the surface, and the sky.
- 02Production automation
- Conveyor belts, pipes, elevators, and long-distance transport systems move materials through manufacturing lines.
- 03Research progression
- An extensive research tree unlocks advanced technologies, upgraded machinery, power generators, and customization options.
- 04Resource management
- Factories require balanced material inputs and outputs together with a maintained power supply.
- 05Co-op multiplayer
- Solo play can be joined by collaborators through online or LAN multiplayer.
