Is Zero Division worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Roguelite deckbuilder fans who want squad-based combat
- CCG players who enjoy building multiple coordinated decks
- Strategy players interested in cyberpunk campaigns with boss-focused encounters
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a standalone hero journey may find the shared squad structure less focused on one protagonist
- Players wanting a fixed, linear campaign may dislike choosing routes through only 3 of 6+ districts per run
- Players looking for real-time combat may not find the card-focused structure suitable
Our take on Zero Division
Rather than centering a single hero, the game distributes identity across a three-person crew whose decks must work together. Its boss encounters also borrow from MMO raid design, placing multi-phase mechanics inside a roguelite card-battling structure.
What is Zero Division?
Zero Division blends roguelite deck construction and CCG-style play in a bleak futuristic city.
Assemble three operators from a roster of nine, choosing among Guardian, Assault, and Specialist roles; balanced and unconventional lineups are both supported. Every operator brings an individual deck with 8 or more signature cards plus 12 or more customizable spaces, and each finished deck requires a minimum of 20 cards. In Campaign Mode, travel through three districts selected from a pool of six or more, then arrive at Wargentin District. Draft Mode begins with data shards for card choices and leads into randomized boss battles that increase in difficulty. Runs provide Mnemosynth, allowing permanent card additions through Failsafe for later expeditions.
How Zero Division plays
- 01Three-Operator Squads
- Teams can be formed from 9 characters spanning Guardian, Assault, and Specialist roles.
- 02Custom Deck Construction
- Each character contributes a deck with signature cards and open slots, with a minimum total of 20 cards.
- 03Multi-Phase Bosses
- Boss fights use distinct mechanics and abilities across encounters featuring a mech, a mutated bull, and a gunship.
- 04Campaign District Routes
- A run visits 3 of 6+ damaged districts before its final area, Wargentin District.
- 05Draft Mode
- Players open data shards, select cards, and carry the resulting decks into randomized boss battles with escalating difficulty.
- 06Persistent Card Collection
- Mnemosynth earned during runs can permanently add cards through the Failsafe system for later runs.
Zero Division compared to similar games
Shogun Showdown also combines roguelike progression with deck or attack customization, but focuses on turn-based positioning, attack tiles, and a final fight against the Shogun. Zero Division instead manages three operators, separate character decks, campaign districts, and randomized multi-phase boss encounters. The other listed alternatives do not present the same deckbuilding combat scope.
