Our take on TRON: Catalyst
The time-loop structure gives exploration a way to preserve knowledge and open shortcuts, but it also makes repeated passes through the Grid part of the experience. Players who prefer uninterrupted forward progression may find that design choice restrictive.
What is TRON: Catalyst?
TRON: Catalyst follows Exo, a courier in the Arq Grid’s capital city whose life changes after a package grants unusual abilities.
Explore neon-lit streets and outlands on foot or by Light Cycle, meet characters, form alliances, and confront rival factions and the peacekeepers. The server’s glitches create time loops that only Exo can see. Restarting a loop preserves knowledge, which can open shortcuts and affect the factions competing for control. Combat includes melee and ranged attacks on foot and while riding Light Cycles, with parries and Disc kicks among the available techniques. Collect Data Shards to upgrade Exo’s code base. The story follows a pursuit by Conn and investigates the glitches threatening the Grid’s stability.
