Our take on G String
The store copy foregrounds a vast, detailed future and a long campaign, but also gives a 10 to 15-hour length and notes that combat is spaced out. It presents a broad journey while quietly setting expectations for a focused, single-player experience with minimal guidance.
What is G String?
Play as Myo Hyori, a Korean teenager wearing a biosuit, in a cyberpunk first-person shooter set across a collapsing future Earth.
The single-player campaign focuses on story and world building, with environmental puzzles, hidden secrets, multiple routes, and locations ranging from Greater Chinatown to Low Orbit Earth and beyond. The suit tracks health, ammunition, and armor, while automatically managing lights, sprinting, breathing, air filters, and some recharging systems. Telekinetic and pyrokinetic abilities are available from the beginning. Acid rain, toxins, storms, smog, and failing infrastructure create environmental hazards. Combat is spaced out and can be harsh, while some human encounters can be avoided. The game lasts 10 to 15 hours and includes alternate post-processing effects.
