Our take on Close Contact
The alien senses the light emitted by the protagonist’s contact lenses, making closed eyes and distance from the creature central to survival.
What is Close Contact?
Close Contact is a short, narrative-driven sci-fi horror game set on Cadmus, a distant planet with an advanced underground base.
The player arrives as a new Abbotsfield Corp employee, wakes from cryogenic sleep, and discovers that something has gone fatally wrong. An alien creature stalks the base and can sense the light frequency emitted by the advanced contact lenses used in this future setting. The player’s stated means of survival is to keep their eyes closed and avoid getting too close to the creature. The game presents its story through a cinematic experience, with a soundtrack, sound effects, and voice logs with subtitles. Estimated playtime is approximately 1 to 1. 5 hours.
