StrategyIs Tetra Tactics worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Deckbuilder fans who want card placement and orientation to shape tactical battles
- Roguelite players who enjoy unlocking persistent perks and heroes between runs
- Strategy players who want to adapt a deck across routes and increasingly difficult encounters
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players who want battles without grid positioning or card-orientation decisions may find the central combat system demanding.
- Players who prefer a fixed challenge may bounce off the run-based progression, where routes, card upgrades, and unlocks shape successive attempts.
- Players looking for a broad campaign beyond the three maps may find the stated setting limited in scope.
Our take on Tetra Tactics
The likely bounce point is the 4x4 battle grid: players who do not want to weigh both a card's placement and its orientation may hit friction from the first tactical encounter. Later, those seeking a long campaign may reach the end of the stated three-map structure quickly.
What is Tetra Tactics?
Tetra Tactics is a roguelite deckbuilder based on Triple Triad.
Battles take place on a 4x4 grid, where card placement and orientation affect combat. Cards use one of four symbols: Sword, Magic, Shield, or Bow. Across three maps, players face increasingly difficult enemies, collect shards, and choose routes through branching paths. Shards unlock permanent perks and additional heroes, each with distinct abilities. During runs, players can upgrade cards, find relics that provide passive bonuses, and use potions for temporary advantages. The game includes more than 100 cards, card combinations that trigger battle effects, and a practice mode for trying tactics outside the main runs.
