Our take on Shrine's Legacy
The defining structure is a two-hero party: the second character stays present throughout the adventure and can be handled by the game or by a local co-op partner.
What is Shrine's Legacy?
Shrine's Legacy is a 16-bit action RPG set in Ardemia, a realm filled with magic.
Rio and Reima seek eight elemental gems needed to repair the Sword of Shrine while assisting the people they meet. Exploration across the overworld is paired with real-time battles, gear and hero development, dungeons, enemies, bosses, treasure, and puzzles requiring elemental spells. Secret locations hold crafting supplies, enchanted jewels, Zuell, and other finds. The group always includes both protagonists; the second character may be directed by the game or another player through couch or local co-op. The narrative focuses on the heroes' relationships and the results of hard decisions made during their effort to protect Ardemia.
How Shrine's Legacy plays

- 03Dungeon treasure
- Dungeons contain monsters and bosses guarding rewards that raise stats and teach new spells.
