Our take on Luminary
Character progression carries between solo play and friends’ games, so the same character can continue developing across both modes.
What is Luminary?
Luminary is an action RPG that can be played solo or online with up to 3 players.
Its current map covers half of a 2 km² OpenZone, with climbing, swimming, and gliding for traversal. Combat uses real-time skills and lets players switch between sword and shield or bow. Players create a character from 6 races and keep that character’s progression when moving between solo and co-op games. The game also includes enemies, camps and bases to destroy, towers to liberate, and town upgrades. Players can replay the experience at higher difficulty levels. The map’s back half and the main boss fight are planned for later, while local co-op is also listed as a future option.
How Luminary plays
- 01Shared character progression

- 03Difficulty tiers
- Completing the map’s end boss unlocks tougher tiers with greater rewards and experience.
- 04Town development
- Rescued townspeople and gathered resources contribute to rebuilding, while several town specialists can gain levels.
