Our take on Gods Of Defense
The game trades a fixed battle structure for procedural runs and layered systems. Players must manage towers, cards, corruption, bosses, and four resources at once, while accepting that a failed defense still forms part of the progression cycle.
What is Gods Of Defense?
Gods of Defense is a roguelite tower-defense game built around procedurally generated maps.
Enemies emerge from gates and attack a temple at the map’s center while towers defend it. After waves, the gate can be pushed farther to reveal more territory. Boon cards add towers or defensive perks, while corruption can trigger Curse cards that alter the run. Gold, Mana, Prayers, and Matter support different strategic systems, including monument construction. Defeat or victory preserves Faith earned during the run, which can unlock towers and improve their abilities. Gate bosses introduce escalating encounters that can be faced immediately or delayed. The game includes 40 battles, replayable maps, challenge trophies, and two extra mini-games.
How Gods Of Defense plays
- 01Procedural Battles
- Each of the 40 battles uses a newly generated map on every playthrough.
- 02Boon And Curse Cards
- Boon cards provide towers or defensive bonuses, while corruption can cause Curse cards to affect the run.
- 03Persistent Faith
- Faith remains available after a run and can unlock towers or improve their abilities.
- 04Gate Boss Encounters
- Bosses appear as the enemy gate advances, and an encounter can be postponed until the defenses are prepared.
- 05Resource Systems
- Gold, Mana, Prayers, and Matter feed separate strategic systems and support monument construction.
- 06Extra Mini-Games
- Surplus resources can be used in a physics-based activity for extra Faith, while a jigsaw puzzle builds the final vision.
