StrategyIs The Simulacrum worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Roguelite players who want card pools that change between runs
- Deckbuilders who enjoy adapting strategies to unpredictable card collections
- Card battlers seeking PvP modes alongside guardian challenges
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a fixed card set may find the generated pools too variable for planned deck construction.
- Players who prefer low-pressure encounters may find the increasingly difficult opponents and guardian challenges demanding.
- Players looking for a game centered on non-card combat may find its focus too narrow.
Our take on The Simulacrum
Procedural generation gives each run and player a different set of cards, but that variability reduces control over the tools available for planned deck construction. Cards also join the persistent collection only after a run goes deep enough.
What is The Simulacrum?
The Simulacrum combines deckbuilding with roguelite card battles.
Each run generates unfamiliar cards, events that can alter them, increasingly difficult opponents, and new guardians. Cards found during sufficiently deep runs enter a persistent collection for constructing decks to challenge guardians. The game includes more than 30 relics, over 20 starting leader cards, puzzle boss battles, an autobattle mode, a PvP friend battle system, and a PvP draft mode. Procedural generation gives players different card pools, so deckbuilding uses the cards available in each run and collection.
