StrategyIs CiniCross worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Nonogram fans who want dungeon routes and boss encounters
- Solo players who enjoy repeated puzzle runs with changing modifiers
- Strategy players who prefer time management and escalating grid complexity
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a fixed puzzle campaign may bounce off procedurally generated runs that reset after death
- Players who want relaxed solving may hit a wall when mistakes and wasted time carry run-level costs
- Players looking for combat-focused dungeon crawling may find the room-by-room puzzle structure too dominant
- Players who dislike repeated attempts may not enjoy rebuilding a run after each death
Our take on CiniCross
The likely bounce point arrives when larger grids meet run pressure: solving can reach 20x20 while mistakes and wasted seconds carry costs. Players must also adapt to boss powers, so a familiar nonogram method may stop working at the end of a floor.
What is CiniCross?
CiniCross combines nonogram puzzles with a dark fantasy dungeon-crawling roguelite structure.
Each room presents a puzzle, while deeper floors introduce increasingly complex grids ranging from 5x5 to 20x20. Players select between branching routes, encounter locations such as shops and campfires, and eventually face a boss on each floor. Boss abilities alter the conditions of puzzle solving and require different approaches. Artifacts and items can modify play by filling columns automatically, increasing rewards, slowing time, and producing combined effects. Mistakes and wasted time carry consequences during a run. After death, a new attempt begins with different treasures and another opportunity to manage routes, puzzle decisions, and time.
How CiniCross plays
- 01Variable Grid Sizes
- Procedurally generated nonograms span grids from 5x5 to 20x20 as dungeon depth increases.
- 02Branching Dungeon Routes
- Each floor presents multiple paths that lead toward a boss and may include shops, campfires, or other locations.
- 03Boss-Specific Powers
- Each boss changes the puzzle challenge with a distinct ability that calls for adjusted tactics.
- 04Artifact Combinations
- Collected artifacts and items can alter puzzle play, rewards, or time and can be combined for synergies.
- 05Run-Based Progression
- Death ends the current attempt, after which players start another run and collect different treasures.
