Our take on Cats & Dice
The game concentrates its design on score-building synergies, so it gives up direct combat and exploration in favor of repeated runs built around dice, cats, items, and numerical targets.
What is Cats & Dice?
Cats & Dice is a roguelike dice-building game structured around rounds with rising target scores.
Each cat has a passive ability and produces a cat-specific die at the start of every round. Players use those dice to reach the required score, with rerolls available for selected dice. Items can modify cat abilities or add effects to their dice, and can be exchanged during a run. The game includes more than 90 cats, 150 items, over 15 scoring bonuses based on dice combinations, and a Boon/Bane choice system with benefits and drawbacks. Tickets can provide permanent run benefits. Passing the final stage unlocks an endless mode for extending a build.
How Cats & Dice plays
