Skip it if you…

- Players looking for a story-light shooter may find the lore and search for the Spire too prominent
Our take on SPRAWL
Its focus on rapid combat and movement leaves little room for a relaxed pace. Players must manage weapons, positioning, enemy behaviors, and time-slowing resources while moving through the city, making deliberate exploration secondary to pressure-filled encounters.
What is SPRAWL?
SPRAWL is a hardcore retro first-person shooter set in a dystopian cyberpunk megacity ruled by a military regime.
Players control SEVEN, a disgraced special-operations soldier trying to escape the walled city and reach the Spire. Combat combines katana attacks, pistol headshots, shotgun-assisted movement, rapid weapon changes, and a cybernetic implant that enables wall-running and time manipulation. Dismembered enemies provide adrenaline for slowing time, while creative encounters can yield ammunition, health refills, or meter refills. Different enemy groups use distinct tactics, including rapid-fire attacks and bullet-blocking charges. The game presents a retro-futurist world with lore, industrial electronic music, and a dynamic soundtrack that reacts to movement and kills.
How SPRAWL plays
- 01Wall-running Movement
- The Icarus implant lets SEVEN move from floors onto walls during exploration and fights.
- 02Time-Slowing Combat
- Adrenaline gained from dismembered enemies fuels temporary slow-motion attacks.
- 03Mixed Weapon Arsenal
- The loadout includes a katana, pistol, and shotgun for different combat situations.
- 04Combat Rewards
- Different approaches to encounters can provide ammunition, health refills, or adrenaline refills.
- 05Reactive Soundtrack
- Industrial electronic music changes in response to player movement and kills.
