Our take on Ground Zero
Fixed cameras and pre-rendered backgrounds define Ground Zero’s retro survival horror structure, framing its ruined Busan setting through the visual and spatial conventions of classic genre games.
What is Ground Zero?
Ground Zero is a retro survival horror game set in South Korea two months after a meteor impact destroys the country.
An elite Korean operative and her Canadian partner investigate the ruined remains of Busan, where fallout has transformed living organisms into hostile creatures. Exploration covers shoreline settlements, temples, and urban areas while the story examines the impact and its strange growths. Combat combines firearms and martial techniques, including shooting, stabbing, kicking, and counters. Cleaner kills award Genome Points that can be traded for gear upgrades. Fixed cameras, pre-rendered scenery, puzzles, adjustable difficulty, and optional tank controls draw on classic survival horror. Extra content includes alternate outfits, additional modes, and hidden endings.
