Our take on Spellcrafter
Spell strength is tied to drawing speed: the game recognizes a sign, while checking the spellbook costs time and a quicker cast produces a stronger spell.
What is Spellcrafter?
Spellcrafter is a role-playing game set in a dark fantasy world, with turn-based tactical combat and spellcasting based on drawn signs.
The game reads a sign drawn on screen and selects the matching spell from the spellbook. Looking up a sign takes extra time, while casting more quickly makes the spell stronger. Players explore, collect gold, speak with non-player characters, take quests, and make moral choices. Heroes can be recruited, and troops can be assembled and summoned for battle. The story is divided into 3 acts, each with 3 levels, different settings, and a playable character: human, necromancer, or elf.
How Spellcrafter plays
- 01Drawn-Sign Casting
- The game selects a spell based on the sign drawn on screen, and faster casting increases its strength.
- 02Three Story Acts
- Each act contains 3 levels with its own setting and a playable character who is human, necromancer, or elf.
- 03Recruitable Heroes
- Heroes can be recruited, while troops can be assembled and summoned for battles.
