Our take on KURSK
Players looking for combat as the main activity may bounce when the spy mission turns to gathering information, managing contact with crew members and avoiding exposure. The story also asks for attention to relationships and decisions, so those seeking a straightforward action sequence may hit that point early.
What is KURSK?
KURSK is a first-person adventure based on real events.
Players take the role of a spy aboard the Russian submarine K-141 Kursk, tasked with collecting secret information about the Shkval torpedoes. The story follows the submarine’s voyage and the events that brought it to the bottom of the Barents Sea. The setting includes Moscow, Vidyayevo and a detailed Oscar II-class submarine in the world of 2000. Players gather intelligence, meet crew members, maintain relationships and make decisions described as having long-term consequences. Spying involves balancing information gathering and contact with important people against the risk of being caught.
