Our take on Slipways
Its defining structure is the compact run: a full space-economy challenge unfolds within 40-60 minutes, with immediate consequences for each connection, industry, and technology choice.
What is Slipways?
Slipways combines strategy and puzzle gameplay in short space-colony runs.
Colonize planets, assign industries, and connect worlds so they support one another through trade. Each decision has immediate effects while planets manage themselves, leaving the player to plan networks, resources, and development. There is no military system. Technology choices vary between runs, with more than 80 options and about 10 used in each game. Procedurally generated sectors create different challenges, while five races offer distinct abilities, outlooks, and technology paths. Standard games give 25 years to develop an empire. Other modes include an endless sandbox, ranked pre-seeded maps, and a campaign with 13 scenarios.
