Our take on StarDrive 2
Its defining structure is the combination of turn-based 4X empire management with real-time tactical space combat, requiring campaigns to alternate between galactic decisions and direct fleet engagements.
What is StarDrive 2?
Lead one of nine alien races through a procedurally generated galaxy in a turn-based 4X strategy game.
Expand an empire by colonizing planets, moons, asteroid belts, and gas giants, while exploiting resources and navigating hazards. Research hundreds of technologies, including race-specific discoveries, and design custom warships for real-time space battles. Turn-based ground combat adds another layer to military campaigns. Diplomacy, espionage, trade treaties, alien relations, pirates, anomalies, heroes, and galactic mysteries shape each game. Heroes can govern worlds or command fleets. A Battle Arena mode offers shorter fights against AI opponents, with rewards that unlock weapons, hulls, modules, and ships. The Digital Deluxe Edition adds ship paint jobs, a design journal, an artbook, and a soundtrack.
