Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking large-scale battlefield command may find the focus on intelligence teams and individual agents too narrow.

- Players looking for a historical setting may not want its near-future premise and speculative technologies.
Our take on Sigma Theory: Global Cold War
Its agent-focused approach gives up the scale of a conventional army strategy game. The campaign’s central work is managing covert missions, diplomatic relationships, and research rather than directing large forces across a battlefield.
What is Sigma Theory: Global Cold War?
In a near-future global cold war, a scientific discovery known as the Sigma Theory is sought by competing nations.
Players lead a national Sigma division, recruit a four-agent team from 50 unlockable characters, and send agents on missions to recruit scientists, collect compromising documents, or influence targets. Turn-based operations include agent exfiltration through world capitals, supported by tactical drones. Players also track, capture, and interrogate foreign agents who enter their country.
Diplomacy covers dealings with other nations, political lobbies, and armed groups, using approaches such as flattery, threats, or blackmail. Research advances through a technology tree, with discoveries ranging from mind control to robot soldiers and immortality. The campaign combines espionage, counter-espionage, diplomacy, and research management around control of the Sigma discovery.
