Our take on Deified
Rather than centering progression on conventional equipment or action-resource management, Deified makes relic slots the main strategic constraint. Each choice supplies a benefit and a penalty, while battles remove familiar limits such as mana, action points, and cooldowns.
What is Deified?
Deified is a turn-based tactical roguelite centered on relic management.
Players collect artifacts, combine matching fragments to restore them, and gather relics of the same type to create synergies. Each relic requires a slot that provides a benefit alongside a drawback, making slot selection part of the strategy. Battles use no mana, action points, or cooldowns, so decisions shape every turn. Runs include skill-tree progression and rooms that expand available choices. Seven bosses stand in the way, each bringing a distinct curse that can disrupt established plans. The story follows Sator against the Lords who corrupted the Gold of the Rhine, in a dark world where relics carry both power and curses.
How Deified plays
- 01Relic Synergies
- Collecting artifacts of the same type activates combinations between their powers.
- 02Slot Tradeoffs
- Every equipped relic occupies a slot that grants an advantage while imposing a drawback.
- 03Fragment Restoration
- Matching fragments can be assembled to restore relics and improve their abilities.
- 04Boss Curses
- Seven bosses introduce individual curses that can alter planned tactics.
Deified compared to similar games
Shogun Showdown also uses turn-based roguelite combat, but its description centers on positioning, attack tiles, combos, skills, and deck construction. Deified instead focuses on relic restoration, slot tradeoffs, relic-type synergies, and boss curses. Xenonauts is a turn-based strategy game about commanding persistent military squads during an alien invasion, while Deified is structured around individual runs and boss encounters.
