Our take on Runeborn
The bounce point arrives during combat, when spell results depend on spinning Rune Columns. Players who need direct control over every attack may struggle with the random results, even with up to 8 Runes available to lock before another spin.
What is Runeborn?
Runeborn combines deckbuilding with a slot-reel-style combat system in a dark fantasy roguelike.
Spinning Rune Columns produces spell results, with matches across five Spell Lines dealing damage. Up to 8 Runes can be locked while the remaining columns spin. Runs allow Runes to be added, removed, or modified, then enhanced with amulets and auras. The game includes 150 Trinkets for combining effects, alongside Scrolls and varied enemies. Players choose starting enemies with distinct abilities, earn coins from stronger opponents, and spend them in five specialized shops. Elites and bosses add further encounters and rewards, while each run uses a different mix of available options.
