Our take on Sclash
The one-hit format makes each duel concise and high-stakes, but leaves little room for extended exchanges or recovery. Its three-button, combo-free combat keeps the control set small at the cost of the layered attack sequences found in combo-driven fighters.
What is Sclash?
Sclash is a 2D samurai fighting game built around tense duels that can end with one hit.
Players control hand-drawn samurai in painted settings, managing stamina and breath while choosing when to strike. The fights use three buttons and have no combos, with the vendor saying the controls can be learned in five minutes or less. Stamina shapes the pace, leaving room to consider each move rather than chaining attacks. Play begins directly from the start screen. The game also has a Discord community for finding opponents, joining playtests and events, sharing ideas, reporting bugs, and talking with the developers.
How Sclash plays
- 01Stamina Management
- Stamina and breath factor into the timing of attacks during duels.
- 02Single-Hit Duels
- A fight can be decided by one successful strike, so each move carries risk.
- 03Three-Button Controls
- The control scheme has no combos, and the vendor says it can be learned in five minutes or less.
- 04Discord Community
- Players can use the community to find opponents, join events, and report bugs.
