Our take on ROBOBEAT
The rhythm-based design ties combat performance to timing and movement, so it gives up a slower, more deliberate shooting pace. Procedural runs also trade fixed level familiarity for changing layouts and loadouts.
What is ROBOBEAT?
ROBOBEAT is a rhythm shooter starring Ace, a bounty hunter pursuing the rogue robot Frazzer through an ever-changing lair.
Combat and movement follow the music: shooting in time can increase damage and reduce cooldowns, while wall-running, sliding, double jumping, bunny hopping, and grappling support rapid traversal. Runs use procedurally generated levels, with weapons, melee tools, and modifications shaping each attempt. Progression unlocks additional songs, weapons, and utilities as Ace explores the mansion. The in-game music editor can use uploaded . wav, . mp3, or . ogg tracks, with options to trim them or leave them unchanged while beats are generated. Visuals and environments also respond to the selected music.
