Our take on Retaliate
Starting without ammunition defines Retaliate: the shield must destroy enemies and capture their weapons before those weapons can be used against the remaining opposition.
What is Retaliate?
Retaliate is a retro-inspired space shooter that begins with no ammunition.
The ship’s shield can destroy enemies and absorb their weapons, which can then be used against other foes. Its story follows a space hero investigating who has taken control of the galaxy’s weapons and trying to end that rule. Arcade play is divided into Endless mode for high-score attempts, Levels mode for practicing stages, and Classic mode based on the original concept. The hangar allows customization of the ship and shield. Its main gameplay cycle combines shield use, enemy-weapon collection, and returning captured fire rather than starting with a full arsenal.
How Retaliate plays
- 01Weapon Absorption
- The shield can capture weapons from destroyed enemies for later use against other foes.
- 02Three Arcade Modes
- Endless supports high-score attempts, Levels focuses on stage play, and Classic presents the original-inspired format.
- 03Ship Customization
- The hangar includes customization for both the ship and its shield.
