The defining mechanic is turning proximity to enemy fire into offensive power: flying closer increases energy gain, while firing during absorption creates Risk Shots and supports shield recovery.
What is Risk System?
Risk System is a high-speed action shooter set in a distant future where energy parasites have turned humanity’s replicated technology against it.
Alys pilots the RSK9, an experimental ship built with older materials that can absorb parasite energy and convert it into firepower. Flying close to enemy attacks increases the B-Meter and weapon strength, while firing during absorption creates Risk Shots. Destroyed enemies can replenish the ship’s shield, and a full B-Meter activates the Barrier Breaker for heavy damage. Barrel Rolls provide vertical movement and alter attacks. Score-focused play rewards destroying groups of enemies, chaining Risk Shots, and building multipliers. Mission performance and decisions affect story facets and paths. The Deluxe Edition adds a concept art book and original soundtrack.
