ActionIs Snake worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Players who enjoy short arcade runs centered on growing while avoiding collisions
- Snake fans who want stages with obstacles and score-based unlocks
- Casual players who prefer adjustable game speed and selectable visual themes
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking varied objectives may find the central eat-and-grow loop repetitive.
- Those who dislike collision-based run endings may hit a wall when the snake meets an obstacle or itself.
- Players looking for online multiplayer or user-created stages may find the described modes limited to solo play.
Our take on Snake
The likely bounce point is the core survival loop: a collision with a wall or the snake ends the run in Classic, and the obstacle-filled stages add more ways to collide. Players who want a changing objective each round may lose interest once eating food and avoiding impact becomes familiar.
What is Snake?
Snake offers three modes.
Classic has the snake eat food and grow while avoiding the walls and its own body. Open mode removes the walls; leaving one side of the screen brings the snake back on the opposite side. Levels adds 12 stages with obstacles such as extra walls and portals that move the snake to other areas. Each stage requires a minimum score on the preceding one to unlock. Slow, Medium, and Fast settings are available, and any speed can be used to unlock stages. Nine themes change the game’s colors and design. Movement uses WASD or the arrow keys; Spacebar pauses, ESC or Backspace exits, and F11 switches fullscreen mode.
How Snake plays
