Our take on Schildmaid MX
The listing foregrounds several modes and more than 40 stages, but those stages are spread across the modes rather than presented as one continuous campaign. Jaeger is the only mode specifically described with saved checkpoints.
What is Schildmaid MX?
Schildmaid MX is a 2D space shooter with three selectable ships and more than 40 handcrafted stages across its modes.
Absorbing enemy projectiles powers up the ship and contributes to scoring; when the shield expires, play shifts to a more dangerous phase. Jaeger Mode has a beginner-oriented difficulty curve and saves checkpoints after cleared stages. Krieger Mode offers a frantic challenge, while Chimera Mode is an endless survival run and Sieger Mode is a short test of mastery. Extra Jaeger and Krieger variants extend scoring and survival play.
Multiple loops introduce enemies and situations, and secret bosses can be triggered through player actions and achievements. Online leaderboards include replays and statistics. The game also has unlockable achievements and titles, plus optional CRT display emulation.
