Our take on Regiments
The campaign pitch emphasizes a complex, multi-perspective war story, while the listed mechanics give more detail about battles, force composition, and resource decisions than about how the story unfolds.
What is Regiments?
In Germany in 1989, NATO and Warsaw Pact forces clash across a broad area in this real-time tactics game.
Players direct a regiment, reposition forces, call in artillery and air support, establish defenses, and launch counterattacks. The Platoon Command system lets players issue orders without managing each infantryman individually. During a battle, players can expand their force by calling in task forces, each with its own equipment and off-map support options. The campaign has nine operations, each covering up to several days of fighting.
Between battles, players manage limited resources and make operational decisions. Four skirmish modes offer varied objectives. The game features more than 100 vehicles, including the Leopard 2, T-72M, and M2 Bradley, and forces from factions such as the Soviet Union, USA, and East and West Germany.
