The broad maps, locomotive roster, and multiple modes give the game a wide scope, but the main activity remains expanding rail networks and managing one company. The different formats vary the setting and structure without changing that central management loop.
What is Railway Empire 2?
In the early 1800s, manage a small railway company and expand its network by connecting cities and companies with tracks, bridges, and tunnels.
Choose from 60 historic locomotives and customize their colors and company initials. Six characters are available to lead the company, each with different strengths and weaknesses. Play a five-chapter campaign, 14 scenarios, customizable Free Play, or Construction mode. Maps cover the whole of the USA and continental Europe, with additional regional maps for more focused areas.
Co-op multiplayer lets up to four players control the same railway company. Track construction includes automatically placed signals, bridges supporting up to four tracks, stations with up to eight tracks, and station attachments. Ride from inside a wagon or from the steam engine’s driver compartment.
