Our take on Prison Princess
The hero's lack of a physical body gives the game its instruction-based puzzle setup, but it also means he cannot investigate or solve challenges himself. Timed puzzles add pressure to that indirect approach, trading free-form exploration for focused, time-limited tasks.
What is Prison Princess?
Prison Princess is an escape adventure set in the Demon King's castle.
The player takes the role of a deceased hero who remains as a spirit and cannot investigate objects or solve puzzles alone. Instead, the hero instructs two captured princesses as they search rooms, gather clues and items, and deal with traps. Puzzles have time limits, so the player must focus on solving them while the princesses act. Choices made during the escape affect the fates of the princesses and the hero. The two characters have different backgrounds: Aria is knowledgeable about magic and reasoning, while Zena trains in swordsmanship. The story follows the spirit hero's attempt to rescue both princesses.
How Prison Princess plays

- 03Timed puzzles
- Puzzle sections have time limits, requiring the player to concentrate while the princesses act.
- 04Choice-dependent fates
- The player's decisions can affect what happens to both princesses and the hero.
