Play it if you…

Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a relaxed settlement builder may hit a wall when worsening Darkness and longer, colder nights increase the pressure to relocate.
- Players looking for a narrow combat game may find the resource management, crafting, research, housing, morale, and defense systems demanding.
- Players wanting a historical strategy setting may not connect with its fantasy creatures, magic, and Slavic-inspired world.
- Players seeking a short, fixed campaign may not suit the cycle of developing a settlement, defending it, and moving to new lands.
Our take on Night is Coming
The bounce point arrives when settlement growth increases rather than removes danger. Players must balance production, morale, research, defenses, and warrior training while the Darkness intensifies, then leave developed territory for new lands instead of treating the first settlement as a permanent base.
What is Night is Coming?
Set in a fantasy realm shaped by Slavic folklore and Eastern European landscapes, this survival strategy game centers on building and growing a refuge as Darkness spreads.
Assign settlers to collect supplies, provide food, clothing, and shelter, and learn crafts including farming and smithing. Each person has distinct traits, needs, abilities, and morale that influence their contribution. Construct homes, workshops, barracks, and storage buildings, then improve them to raise output and strengthen defenses. Train warriors in different roles and either direct them yourself or let them act on their own.
Spells can aid settlers and support battles. Send parties to explore for scarce materials and face unpredictable events. Monsters, harsher weather, and the growing threat of Darkness eventually push survivors to abandon established lands and seek another place to settle.
