Our take on Winter
Its settlement economy and preparation cycle add planning beyond direct combat, but that structure also makes progress depend on managing resources, recruitment, defenses, and changing weather before each night.
What is Winter?
Winter is a 2D pixel-art strategy game about protecting a forest settlement from creatures drawn from Slavic mythology.
Players gather silver, develop and upgrade the settlement, and recruit fighters from nearby communities. Before each night, the army can be expanded and trained, while fiery walls are constructed to defend against winter's forces. Exploration through snowy forests reveals lore, secrets, and mysteries connected to the child of fire, the frost, and the gods. Each day brings new challenges, and random weather events can affect battles. Offerings and prayers may influence these conditions, creating benefits or hindrances that require changes in planning.
