Hiro, Sanbi, and Yoshiko travel to China after Sanbi senses a summons from her true form, the legendary nine-tailed fox.
The adventure uses a hex-based map with battle nodes, treasure chests, and scenario events. These encounters provide ways to strengthen units before tactical fights on chessboard-inspired battlefields. Players place units to defend their realm, gather spiritual energy, collect divine boons and relics, and use Powerstones to evolve units and unlock stronger skill attacks. Hiro’s abilities can be upgraded after each run. Battles feature supernatural creatures from Chinese and Japanese folklore, including elite enemies, waves of mythical minions, and bosses with distinct combat styles and abilities.
