Our take on FatalZone
Viral exposure is a defining constraint: each run can increase a mercenary’s viral load, changing physical condition and potentially causing a mutation with either a benefit or a drawback.
What is FatalZone?
FatalZone is an auto-shooter set in a zombie-ravaged world, combining roguelike runs with RPG progression.
Mercenaries fight through procedurally generated maps, collect resources, gain levels, and develop weapon, armor, skill, and perk combinations. Between missions, the survivor camp can be expanded through seven buildings with 10 upgrade levels each, while new mercenaries can be recruited and trained. During runs, viral exposure affects a mercenary’s physical state and can trigger beneficial or harmful mutations. Missions can end early through evacuation if a mercenary reaches the copter. The full game includes five locations, nine playable classes, six difficulty levels, 41 enemy variations, and 330 achievements.
