Our take on Neyyah
Its emphasis on careful observation and environmental puzzles trades direct action for deliberate exploration. The first-person point-and-click format also makes movement and interaction depend on scene transitions rather than continuous character control.
What is Neyyah?
Neyyah is a first-person point-and-click adventure set across remote, nearly abandoned islands linked by portal machinery.
After waking from a strange dream, the player arrives in Olujay and is sent by Vamir to Neyyah. Exploring the islands is necessary to return to Olujay and reach him. Progress involves examining environments, connecting mechanical devices and levers, using inventory items, and solving puzzles through observation and visual clues. The game presents its story through the landscapes and the cultures that shaped Neyyah. It uses a 2D point-and-click interface with cursor options, four movement transition settings, and a faster-travel mode that skips some scenes.
How Neyyah plays
- 01Movement settings
- Four transition options—OFF, SPEED, NEUTRAL, and RELAX—change how movement between scenes is presented.
- 02Faster travel
- A mode skips selected scenes to shorten travel through the world.
- 03Environmental puzzles
- Progress uses close observation, visual connections, and inventory items to solve puzzles.
- 04Cursor options
- The interface offers several cursor choices to indicate interactive objects.
