Our take on Kinetic Void
The defining structure is a procedurally generated galaxy without a main storyline: each new game creates its sectors, factions, and contents, while the player chooses whether to trade, fight, ally, pursue piracy, or build wealth.
What is Kinetic Void?
Build spacecraft piece by piece from cockpits, hulls, engines, weapons, and aesthetic modules, then modify their subsystems and colors.
Ships can serve as fighters, freighters, or carriers, with module statistics affecting performance and damage potentially destroying subsystems. Explore galaxies generated with new sectors, factions, political relationships, and sector contents for each game. Trade, fight, ally with factions, pursue piracy, or accumulate wealth without a fixed main storyline. Real-time combat includes broadside attacks, strafing runs, drones, and three control modes. A kinetic field can protect the ship and activate the Micro Warp Drive. Created ships can be saved to a computer or shared through Steam Workshop.
How Kinetic Void plays
- 01Piece-by-piece shipbuilding
- Construct vessels from individual cockpits, hulls, engines, weapons, and aesthetic modules.
- 02Subsystem customization
- Add subsystems to modules to alter specific ship attributes, with damage able to destroy them.
- 03Procedural galaxies
- New games generate the galaxy map, sector contents, factions, and faction involvement from scratch.
- 04Faction politics
- Trade, combat, piracy, treaties, and agreements affect how factions regard one another.
- 05Three control modes
- Switch between keyboard cursor control, direct mouse flight, and an orbital camera for turret operation.
- 06Steam Workshop sharing
- Save constructed ships to a computer or share them through Steam Workshop.
