Our take on subpar pool
The card-driven structure trades fixed progression for unpredictability. Each run can vary through rule combinations, but players seeking a consistent sequence of handcrafted tables may find that changing layouts and modifiers reduce familiarity.
What is subpar pool?
Subpar Pool combines golf-like aiming with pool-style ball pocketing across procedurally generated tables.
Each level contains a sequence of tables where balls must be pocketed within a limited number of shots. Players build a course by selecting cards from a deck, changing the rules and challenges for each playthrough. Card combinations can add time limits, portals, glass balls, and other variations, with more than 14,000 possible combinations from 18 cards. The game includes four worlds with different constraints, supports one-handed play, and offers short sessions that can also be extended. Its presentation uses vibrant French-inspired art and a mini-golf funk soundtrack.
