Our take on Hex
Every move removes the tile left behind, so completing a level depends on planning a route that clears the whole board.
What is Hex?
Hex is a logic puzzle game in which each level is cleared by removing all its tiles.
Movement follows six hexagonal directions, with jumps of one or two spaces; leaving a tile removes it from the board. Players must plan a route that clears the full level before moving on. Tile behavior changes the puzzles: some tiles switch between active and inactive, some create extra tiles nearby, and others transport the player across the board. The game includes 70 levels and 14 bonus levels across 7 worlds, with 12 tile types and 12 achievements. The stated gameplay length is 4 to 6 hours.
How Hex plays
- 01Tile-changing puzzles
- Tiles can switch states, generate nearby tiles, or transport the player elsewhere on the board.
- 02Hexagonal movement
- Each move jumps one or two spaces in one of six directions, and departing a tile clears it.
- 03Bonus levels
- Alongside the 70 main levels, there are 14 bonus puzzles.
