Our take on Achromatic
The description emphasizes a gradual difficulty curve and a calming presentation, but the core activity remains repeated line-drawing puzzles. The 10 bonus levels add a challenge after the main set rather than introducing a different mode or expanding the puzzle rules.
What is Achromatic?
Achromatic is a minimalist puzzle game where players recolor dots by linking two of the same color, changing the dots along their path.
Only one color can be altered per move. Special dots add rules: square dots let a path turn, and triangle dots are linked so that changing one also changes the others. The game offers 60 handcrafted levels and 10 bonus stages unlocked after completing the main game. An undo control allows players to test different moves, and a color-blind mode is available. The game also includes an original soundtrack and levels that introduce mechanics before increasing in difficulty.
How Achromatic plays
- 01Special dot rules
- Square dots redirect a line, while linked triangle dots respond together when one changes.
- 02Undo moves
- Revert a move to try a different approach to a puzzle.
- 03Color blind mode
- A separate mode is available for color-blind play.
- 04Bonus puzzles
- 10 additional levels unlock after completing the main game.
