StrategyIs CUFFBUST worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Friend groups who want cooperative prison-break planning
- Players who enjoy experimenting with destructible environments and escape routes
- Map creators interested in building prisons, races, arenas, or obstacle courses
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a fixed, linear escape sequence may bounce off the many routes and player-directed plans.
- Solo players may hit a wall at the lobby-based social systems, including cooperation, betrayal, and proximity chat.
- Players uninterested in creating or browsing community maps may not use the editor and Workshop features.
- Players looking for a quiet stealth game may not suit the weapons, destructible environments, and player conflict.
Our take on CUFFBUST
The bounce point arrives when an escape depends on coordinating with nearby players, reading the prison environment, and choosing among several routes. Players who prefer a single prescribed path may find the combination of tools, sabotage, voice communication, and destructible surroundings demanding rather than clarifying.
What is CUFFBUST?
Plan and execute prison escapes in lobbies of up to 10 players.
Players can cooperate, split up, betray teammates, or obstruct rival groups while searching for routes out. Tools and environmental interactions open different options: explosives damage doors and walls, spoons can start tunnels, cameras reveal guards, and intercoms carry messages across the prison. Other activities include accessing restricted areas with ID cards, looting weapons and shields, repairing electrical circuits, destroying air defenses, and building a raft. The game includes proximity voice chat, destructible surroundings, community maps through Steam Workshop, and an in-game editor for prisons, races, arenas, and obstacle courses. Hundreds of cosmetic items are also available.
