Our take on CosmoPirates
The run-based structure creates changing challenges and a persistent opponent, but it gives up a fixed progression path. Players choose the order of quests and battles, so the campaign has less predetermined pacing than a linear adventure.
What is CosmoPirates?
CosmoPirates combines card battles, deck construction, ship management, items, and crew decisions in a comic space adventure.
Each run creates a different galaxy with rewards, hazards, unusual characters, and quests that can be approached in a chosen order. Cards represent equipment, weapons, gambits, and strategies; they can be found during exploration, purchased, or earned through combat. Building combinations between cards shapes each battle. The campaign follows a rise against a pirate overlord. Defeating that overlord ends the current run and places the completed character in the next game as an opponent, carrying forward the power gained previously. The game is presented as a roguelike with repeated runs, changing galaxy layouts, and a progression loop centered on deck and crew development.
