Our take on Cold Waters
Its defining structure is the choice between quietly approaching targets for torpedo attacks and launching missiles from farther away while facing the risk of an enemy counterattack.
What is Cold Waters?
Cold Waters is a submarine combat simulation set during a Cold War conflict that escalates into World War III.
Command a nuclear submarine while intercepting convoys, opposing amphibious landings, carrying out insertion missions, and engaging enemy warships, submarines, and aircraft. Attacks can use wire-guided torpedoes, anti-ship missiles, cruise missiles, or occasional SEAL teams. Encounters take place in real time and include a sonar model for detecting and tracking contacts. The game features more than 40 classes of ships and submarines, a dynamic campaign in which performance affects the campaign, and Soviet combat tactics. Missions involve choosing between close-range torpedo attacks and longer-range missile strikes with different risks.
