Our take on Along the Edge
Rather than centering on combat or exploration, this adventure replaces those genre conventions with decisions about grief, family rivalry, romance, work, and belief. Its structure treats Daphné’s personal identity and relationships as the main progression systems.
What is Along the Edge?
Daphné moves to the French countryside after inheriting a remote family estate and discovering her connection to a line of witches.
The story follows her relationships with Frank and Stanislas, her work as a middle-school teacher, the feud between the Delatour and Malterre families, and the mystery of a condemned tower at the center of her castle. Choices determine whether Daphné embraces magic or remains rational, reconciles with her family’s rivals, pursues a relationship, stays single, becomes a priestess, teaches mathematics, or directs the local school. The game includes more than 450 full-screen illustrations, an original piano soundtrack, dozens of achievements, 20 characters with over 400 variants and attitudes, nearly 80,000 words, and more than 38 versions of Daphné.
