What is The Last Survey?
Play as a geologist hired by a Brazilian mining company to assess rare earth metal reserves.
After conducting research, the findings indicate that available supplies cannot meet industries’ current demand. The story follows the geologist’s presentation of those results to company CEO Victor Ferreira. Players choose dialogue and actions in a narrative that examines mineral extraction, globalism, and corporate power. Hand-drawn digital, graphite, and charcoal illustrations accompany the story, along with a changing soundtrack by Lewis Kopenhafer. Choices about how to conduct the survey shape the narrative, with multiple possible endings.
