Our take on WAyE
Rather than placing the player in a populated settlement or familiar adventure route, the game makes isolation and resource scarcity its central structure. The fisherman’s ordinary outing becomes an ocean survival scenario where planning, crafting, and judgment replace conventional progression through established locations.
What is WAyE?
WAyE follows a fisherman whose routine trip becomes a struggle for survival after he wakes alone in the open ocean.
The game centers on deciding how to use the items brought from home, managing limited resources, and making choices where mistakes can be fatal. The sea presents dangers, while panic and poor judgment add pressure to each decision. Players must plan carefully, create what they need despite the lack of materials, and find ways to endure far from shore. The journey combines survival, crafting, exploration, and adventure around a lone character responsible for navigation, sailing, and staying alive.
How WAyE plays
- 01Open-Sea Survival
- The fisherman must endure alone in the ocean after an unexpected event leaves him far from land.
- 02Resource Management

- 03Consequential Decisions
- Poor choices can lead to death, making planning and judgment central to the journey.
- 04Ocean Crafting
- The game includes creating needed items despite the difficulty of finding materials at sea.
