Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking real-time action may hit a wall at the alternating-turn structure.
- Players who prefer a consistent campaign scale may find the changing unit, region and turn sizes difficult to follow.
- Players seeking one continuous campaign may not want a collection of separate scenarios.
Our take on Wars Across The World
Players seeking real-time command will hit the first wall when turns alternate between sides. Those who want one consistent scale may also struggle as unit size, map regions and turn duration shift from scenario to scenario.
What is Wars Across The World?
Wars Across The World is a turn-based strategy game that uses a shared rules system for conflicts across different periods and settings.
The base pack contains a tutorial and 10 scenarios, including the First Punic War, Hastings, Waterloo, Normandy and Berlin. Players take alternating turns, each controlling one side, and move land, naval or air forces across regions. Battles between opposing forces resolve in two rounds. Leaders affect combat and morale, while event cards can change factors such as movement, weather, income and troop strength.
Scale varies by scenario: a unit may represent a battalion or an army, a region may cover a small area or an entire country, and a turn may span hours or years. The game supports solo, hot-seat and play-by-email modes. Players can download a game editor to customize scenarios or create new ones.
