Our take on Virginia
Players looking for combat systems or open-ended exploration may bounce off when the investigation settles into cinematic scenes, suspect encounters, and narrative decisions rather than action-heavy play.
What is Virginia?
Virginia is a single-player, first-person thriller about a missing-person investigation in 1992.
Players follow graduate FBI agent Anne Tarver as she travels with investigator Maria Halperin to Kingdom, a secluded town in Burgess County, Virginia. The case involves a vanished boy, competing interests, concealed motives, and an expanding group of suspects. Decisions affect the lives of Anne and Halperin as the investigation becomes more sinister. The game presents its story through film-inspired editing, dreamlike scenes, dramatic encounters, and a detective-noir framework. Its presentation includes painterly visuals, a cast of unusual local characters, and an orchestral score recorded by the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra.
